About Our Team:
At Leggett & Platt's Pacoma GmbH in Eschwege, Germany, we are a global leader in hydraulic cylinders and motion technologies serving the construction, material handling, agriculture, and industrial markets. Our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team plays a critical role in supporting business decisions through financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis. By partnering with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales, and Leadership teams, FP&A helps drive profitability, operational efficiency, and strategic growth across the organization.
In This Role:
As an FP&A Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience in financial planning, business analysis, and manufacturing finance within a global industrial organization. You'll work closely with finance professionals to support budgeting processes, analyze business performance, and provide insights that help guide operational and strategic decisions. This internship is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, financial analysis, and cross-functional collaboration in a manufacturing environment.
So, what will you be doing as an FP&A Intern?
- Assist with monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, and performance tracking activities.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by gathering, organizing, and analyzing financial and operational data.
- Help prepare financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for management review.
- Analyze manufacturing, operational, and cost-related data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Assist with monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue, expenses, profitability, inventory, and productivity.
- Support monthly close activities through data validation, reporting, and analysis.
- Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and other business functions to understand financial drivers and operational performance.
- Assist in developing financial models and scenario analyses to support decision-making.
- Help identify process improvement opportunities that enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Participate in special projects related to cost analysis, capital investments, and business planning initiatives.
- Maintain financial documentation and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Other duties as assigned.
To Be Successful in This Role, You'll Need:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Industrial Management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis functions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in financial analysis, business strategy, and manufacturing operations.
- Ability to interpret financial and operational data to support business decisions.
- Ability to work onsite at Pacoma GmbH in Eschwege, Germany.
Things We Consider a Plus:
- Previous internship, coursework, or project experience in finance, accounting, controlling, or business analysis.
- Familiarity with financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis concepts.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or similar enterprise software.
- Knowledge of manufacturing finance, cost accounting, or operational performance metrics.
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Power Query, macros, or financial modeling.
- Understanding of financial planning processes and key business performance indicators.
- Interest in pursuing a career in corporate finance, FP&A, controlling, or manufacturing finance.
