Leggett & Platt is in the exciting, early stages of our diversity and inclusion journey. With executive support and full participation of our global workforce, we are now looking to add a leader who is motivated to work with us to shape our future! Reporting to the CHRO, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (ID&E) develops and leads the company’s global ID&E strategy and implements employee engagement, inclusion, communication, change management, and learning initiatives aligned with the ID &E strategy.  This individual will partner with others to embed diversity and inclusion into our talent, learning, and engagement processes and work with leaders and managers to create a sense of belonging, enabling employees to bring their best selves to Leggett and Platt to do their best work.


This position will provide expertise and manage/deliver on initiatives to help the organization grow and continuously integrate ID&E practices. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively navigate across the business to evolve and communicate insights, direction, and progress on ID&E initiatives while identifying the unique needs of the organization and effectively customizing for success.




  • Consult with business and functional leaders on the development and implementation of strategies for creating and sustaining an inclusive culture and a culturally competent and diverse workforce
  • Create a vision and roadmap that fosters change, create dialogue, and builds excitement about our company’s commitment to ID&E
  • Build partnerships, assess needs, and work directly with HR and business leaders to shape ID&E strategy and solutions.
  • Consult with business units to determine needs and provide guidance for designing diversity-based solutions that align with business unit objectives.
  • Work with Talent Management, Learning & Development, Supplier Diversity, and Sustainability teams to integrate the ID&E initiatives into the overall talent, learning, and supplier strategies.
  • Steward global Employee Resources Groups or similar networks, ensuring charters, group leadership, and support to drive meaningful employee connections and impact.
  • Stay abreast of diversity trends, best practices.  Champion the diversity and inclusion change process in driving best practices, adoption, and compliance across the organization.
  • Drive the metrics, data, and trend analytics and create compelling dashboards to monitor, track progress and pinpoint areas where focus or action will yield positive progress.
  • Leverage data to provide insights to HR and business leaders to build impactful ID&E plans and actions for their business/function.
  • Partner with the HR team, communications, and business leadership to develop, communicate and implement enterprise-wide ID&E strategy aligned with company culture, values, and behaviors – leveraging our strengths and addressing gaps.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders and outside organizations to further our diversity efforts.



  • College degree in the related business field.  7+ years of progressive global HR business partner experience coupled with 3-5 years in an ID&E leadership role.
  • Strategic and forward-thinking with strong business acumen and the ability to identify and proactively address impacts and disruptions.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to effectively communicate, build teams, and influence across boundaries.  Works well in a matrix environment.
  • Experience leading large-scale change efforts and managing compliance and risk while creating alignment globally.
  • Strong planning and implementation experience at scale.
  • Capability to work both strategically and hands-on to deliver results utilizing project/program management & leadership skills, C-suite presence and credibility, decisive judgment, business instincts, and high level of professionalism to lead major change and transformation initiatives.
  • Strong collaborator and relationship builder.
