Job Summary:  The HR Generalist supports the manufacturing facilities in a local geographic area. The HR Generalist in partnership with the respective manufacturing facility leaders, ensure successful execution of HR practices and objectives that provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture emphasizing safety, quality, and productivity goal attainment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 

HRIS and Payroll:

  • Monitor non-exempt/hourly time in ADP eTime System tracking attendance
  • Input approved time off requests in ADP System
  • Review ADP eTime to ensure supervisors have approved prior to payroll process
  • Run reports to track headcount, hours worked, attrition, etc.

Business Partnership:

  • Meet periodically with Manufacturing Plant Managers and Supervisors to discuss implementation of, and track progress on various HR initiatives

Compliance:

  • Investigate any allegations of non-compliance with federal employment regulations and/or company policies and procedures; make recommendations on appropriate next steps based upon information provided
  • Serve as consultant to Manufacturing Operation Leaders to help determine solutions for any employee relations issues
  • Set up and maintain employee files
  • Respond to any claims for unemployment

 

Training and Development:

  • Facilitate new employee orientation training
  • Facilitate additional employee and leadership training courses as needed/requested throughout the year
  • Assist in enhancing and implementing current and future Human Resources programs and initiatives

 

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Talent Acquisition:

  • Assist with posting vacant position internally and externally; facilitate phone screens
  • Partner with hiring manager(s) to schedule in-person interviews
  • Extend offers to selected candidates
  • Meet with new employees to complete the on-boarding process
  • Partner with Staffing Agencies and Plant managers to help manage temporary workforce

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or five years of relevant human resources experience in the production and manufacturing industry.
  • PHR, SPHR, and/or SHRM Certification preferred

 

Experience:

  • ADP Workforce Now is preferred
  • SAP Success Factors is preferred
  • General knowledge of HCMS

  • Safety - Observes all safety procedures and policies; Reports potentially unsafe conditions to supervisor; Uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.
