Electrician

As an Electrician you will have the opportunity to perform various skilled, semi-skilled, and manual work functions associated with installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment. .  Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our production equipment- helping keep manufacturing operations running smoothly and without interruption.  The team you will be working with is collaborative and innovative, and values challenging work and diversity of thought. 

So, what will you be doing as an Electrician?

• Performs various skilled, semi-skilled and manual work functions associated with installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment such as troubleshooting electrical problems, reviewing and commenting on electrical wiring/systems, installing electrical circuits, replacing breakers and fuses, replacing defective wiring, removing/installing breaker panels and covers, installing/replacing indoor/outdoor lighting fixtures, installing electrical receptacles/switches, repairing/wiring electrical motors, installing/maintaining exhaust fan/systems, running wires/cables, bending conduit, changing ballasts or replacing bulbs/batteries.
• Tests continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components; inspects/tests machinery, equipment and parts for proper operations; adjusts, repairs or replacements as appropriate; reports problem situations.
• Installs, repairs, replaces and maintains a variety of electrical fixtures, systems, equipment and related components in compliance with applicable codes.
• Operates a variety of machinery, equipment and tools associated with installing, repairing and maintaining electrical systems and fixtures, which may include a utility vehicle, lift, trencher, drill, hole punch, conduit bender, pipe threader, fish tape, gauges, meters, electrical tools, mechanical tools or diagnostic instruments.
• Performs general cleaning/maintenance tasks necessary to keep equipment and tools in operable condition, which may include inspecting equipment, checking/replacing fluids, greasing equipment, washing/cleaning equipment, cleaning project work areas, and cleaning shop, monitoring equipment operations to maintain efficiency and safety, and reporting faulty equipment.
• Follows safety procedures, utilizes safety equipment and monitors work environment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals.
• Responds to emergency calls.
• Other duties may be required as assigned

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Or the combination of vocational/technical training in electrical systems and practical experience

• 2 years of industrial process experience and/ or training that includes installations, repair and maintenance of electrical systems
