As an Electrician you will have the opportunity to perform various skilled, semi-skilled, and manual work functions associated with installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment. . Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our production equipment- helping keep manufacturing operations running smoothly and without interruption. So, what will you be doing as an Electrician?
- Performs various skilled, and manual work functions associated with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. Troubleshoots electrical enclosure issues involving PLCs, VFDs, and all components within electrical enclosures. As well as electrical components used for system functions.
- High competency in reading meters and troubleshooting electrical systems when electrical drawings are unavailable. Knowledge of safety circuits and function within systems. Ability to inspect and evaluate various electrical systems within machinery. Knowledge of equipment and component functions for proper operation of components and systems. Ability to adjust, repair or replace components as needed within a production environment.
- Ability to read, review, and comment on electrical wiring system drawings. Ability to install electrical circuits, replace breakers and fuses, replace defective wiring, remove and install breaker panels and covers. Installing/replacing indoor/outdoor lighting fixtures, installing electrical receptacles/switches.
- Ability to wire electrical motors based on motor plate wiring configuration and system requirements. Installing/maintaining exhaust fan/systems, running wires/cables, bending conduit, changing ballasts, or replacing bulbs/batteries.
- Installs, repairs, replaces and maintains a variety of electrical fixtures, systems, equipment, and related components in compliance with applicable codes.
- Operates a variety of equipment and tools associated with installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and fixtures, which may include a utility vehicle, lift, trencher, drill, hole punch, conduit bender, pipe threader, gauges, meters, electrical tools, mechanics tools, or diagnostic instruments.
- Performs general cleaning/maintenance tasks necessary to keep equipment and tools in operable condition, which may include inspecting equipment, checking/replacing fluids, greasing equipment, washing/cleaning equipment, cleaning project work areas, and cleaning shop, monitoring equipment operations to maintain efficiency and safety, and reporting faulty equipment.
- Follows safety procedures, utilizes safety equipment, and monitors work environment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals. Willingness to recognize when the issue is out of skill level and requires further resources.
- Responds to emergency calls.
- Other duties can be required as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Or the combination of vocational/technical training in electrical systems and practical experience
- 2 years of industrial process experience and/ or training that includes installations, repair and maintenance of electrical systems
