Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic to assist in the maintenance and upkeep of manufacturing machinery. This mid-level, hourly position will report directly to our Production Superintendent at our City of Industry, CA location

 

What you’ll do

  • Perform periodic inspections and routine maintenance on machinery.  Provide feedback and suggestions to supervisors for improving reliability of equipment
  • Observe, detect and diagnose cause of machinery breakdowns and make necessary repairs to equipment
  • Assist in the design and installation of new or upgraded equipment and machinery.
  • Work with purchasing to develop and maintain spare parts inventory
     
    Minimum qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience in production environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLC codes
  • Ability to accurately diagnose equipment malfunctions to maximize production availability, performance and quality
  • Working experience & understanding of: servos, solenoid systems, pneumatic systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, PLC/PC controls and communications, drives, motors and various forms of automation instrumentation and devices
  • Mechanical experience with machinery
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift experience/Certification
  • Able to read and interpret schematics (electrical, electronic, pneumatic and mechanical) and technical documents (safety, operating, troubleshooting and maintenance manuals) to assist in troubleshooting.
  • Knowledgeable in NEC, NFPA, NEMA and NIST Hand book 44 techniques and requirements.
