As a Sourcing & Supplier Development Manager you will have the opportunity to support sourcing and supplier development activities.  Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by providing the organization with additional business intelligence, risk mitigation, and quality assurance capabilities.  The team you will be working with is knowledgeable, and values relationship building amongst internal and external stakeholders. This position can be remote out of Mumbai, IN or hybrid out of Chennai, IN.

So, what will you be doing as a Sourcing & Supplier Development Manager?

  • Understand and Implement L&P Global Supply Chain, Sourcing and Supplier Development processes and procedures within India to support L&P Operations globally
  • Manage sourcing efforts to support the needs of the various L&P Business Units
  • Assess regional market conditions and develop procurement strategies that maximize value to the organization
  • Implement, execute, and facilitate L&P Risk mitigation and supplier qualification practices with Indian Suppliers as appropriate. Including: Supplier Assessments, Supplier Agreement Negotiations, Sustainable Sourcing Assessments via Integrity Next, Risk Methods, Financial Risk Analysis, Denied Party Screening, etc.
  • Oversee identification, development, and qualification of suppliers within India, working to minimize the Corporations supply chain risks within the region
  • Ensure L&P Global Supply Chain Processes and Procedures are understood and appropriately/consistently followed
  • Participate and contribute to regular strategic planning activities of the L&P Global Supply Chain Organization
  • Contribute ideas to continue to improve L&P Global Supply Chain processes and procedures as opportunities arise
  • Facilitate Corrective Action Plans with suppliers as needed
  • Participate and lead negotiation of price, legal contracts, supply agreements, payment terms, etc., as necessary
  • Support the organization in building strong business relationships with key suppliers
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the L&P Global Supply Chain team
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all L&P Business Units and Individual Branches with a goal of becoming a trusted advisor and valuable resource to each
  • Perform supplier assessments and qualifications in the region to meet L&P Global Supply Chain requirements
  • As necessary support recruitment, hiring and on-boarding of additional team members as demand necessitates
  • Development and training, work to continuously develop knowledge and skills through educational opportunities, special projects and on the job assignments/opportunities

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Engineering or Supply Chain Management preferred)
  • Strong bilingual interpersonal skills (fluent verbal and written English/Hindi)
  • Excellent communicator with strong organizational skills
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in International Purchasing, Sourcing and/or Supply Chain Management in a structured and compliant multinational corporation environment
  • Able and willing to travel as required (up to 70% Domestic/International)
  • Self-motivated, highly energetic individual with knowledge of Indian manufacturing strengths and weaknesses (Knowledge and experience working across India a bonus)
  • Commitment to Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement
  • Team player with a positive attitude, honest and strong ethics practitioner
  • Strong project management, strategic thinking, analytical and collaboration skills
