We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a VP Manufacturing Wire and Spring within our wire and spring team to help support our bedding business. As a VP Manufacturing Wire and Spring you will have the opportunity to oversee and improve manufacturing operations for wire and spring. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by defining and implementing manufacturing strategy, structure, and processes. So, what will you be doing as a VP Manufacturing Wire and Spring?
- Oversee P&L and all wire and spring manufacturing operations.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all phases of wire and spring operations.
- Collaborates with sales, demand/supply planning, engineering, safety, quality and other cross functional teams to proactively develop companywide manufacturing product and service solutions.
- Controls manufacturing projects, overseeing plans, strategies and priorities.
- Coordinates with Plant Management on optimal utilization of multiple locations’ infrastructure and customer requirements.
- Provides input to the quarterly and annual forecasting process and P&L responsibilities.
- Approves projects, including those for funding and implementation of programs.
- Responsible for analyzing technology, resource needs, and market demand to plan and assess the feasibility of company projects.
- Define and implement operations strategy, structure, and processes.
- Monitor performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions.
- Coordinate support to operations throughout the business.
- Interview, hire, train, and mentor the operations management team.
- Provide regular performance updates to the senior leadership team.
- Motivates, outlines and delegates methods to surpass all company goals.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field.
- 10-15 years of management experience in operations or related field.
- Ability to travel 50%
- Multi team management experience.
- P&L experience.
- Experience in Continuous improvement and lean.
- Knowledge of Materials Management, Quality Systems, Industrial Engineering, Time Studies, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, Human Resources, and Plant Engineering.
- Proven track record as a team leader with an understanding of management practices within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated project and budget management skills.
- Strong business acumen with a broad understanding of fundamental business principles.
- Analytical problem-solving skills with an impeccable attention to detail.
- Ability to set overall strategy and drive process improvement.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
