Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking a Time Study Intern to take on a lean manufacturing project within our L&P Automotive facility in Carthage, Missouri. If you are a student wanting to get some hands-on experience with lean principles this may be the role for you!

 

Bright students are welcome and wanted in Doors, Leggett & Platt’s internship program. Our interns gain real experience, working on challenging projects alongside experienced teams.  For more information, please visit our careers site. 

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Making a time and motion study with video
  • Identify process waste based on a Value Stream analysis
  • Use data to propose countermeasures
  • Convert customer-based tack time to cycle time
  • Determine workforce per shift needs for varying production batch sizes
  • Make a line balancing activity
  • Make a SMED workshop

 

A few things you’ll need:

  • On track to graduate with a degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field
  • Understanding of 8 types of waste
  • Understanding of what a Value Stream Analysis involves

 

Things we consider a plus:

  • Desire to be hands-on, out on the floor, and not behind a computer all day
