As a Server Engineer II, you will have the opportunity to help manager, monitor, and maintain both our enterprise server and Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.  Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by supporting and modernizing network platforms and infrastructure for the organization. This is an on-site position at our corporate office in Carthage, MO.

So, what will you be doing as a Server Engineer II?

  • Provision, configure, and manage Azure resources including virtual machines, virtual networks, and storage accounts
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights
  • Assist with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
  • Manage patching, updates, and lifecycle maintenance for our server and cloud infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve infrastructure issues
  • Enforce security best practices, policies, and compliance standards
  • Optimize cloud usage and spending through Azure Cost Management, budgeting, and tools
  • Collaborate with development teams, security teams, and IT operations to support application and infrastructure needs
  • Document configurations, operational procedures, and runbooks
  • Assist with cloud migrations from on-premises or other cloud platforms

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience administering server and Microsoft Azure environments
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Azure IaaS and PaaS services
    • Networking concepts (VNets, VPNs, ExpressRoute, NSGs)
    • Identity and access management (Azure AD, Conditional Access)
  • Experience with Windows and/or Linux server administration
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Azure CLI)
  • Knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools
  • Understanding of backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies

 

Things we consider a plus:

  • Azure Certification - AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator
  • Experience with:
    • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep)
    • DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub)
    • Hybrid cloud environments
    • Cloud financial management / FinOps
    • Application platforms including containers and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with industry compliance frameworks (ISO, SOC, HIPAA, etc.)
