Reliability Engineer Intern

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Reliability Engineering Intern within our US Spring division to help support our bedding business. As a Reliability Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to help the overall efficiency and reliability of the facility by ensuring parts/machines are operating in compliance with the company’s standards. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by improving processes to increase efficiencies. The team you will be working with is close-knit and values the importance of challenging work.

So, what will you be doing as a Reliability Engineer Intern?

  • Learn and understand the key fundamentals of Leggett and Platt’s Total Productive Manufacturing process.
  • Collect and analyze part and equipment failure data from CMMS.
  • Utilize techniques like FMEA, RCA, and fault tree to identify problems.
  • Develop testing procedures and specifications for various components or systems.
  • Work closely with engineers, vendors, technicians, and maintenance staff to revise designs, develop rebuild procedures, maintenance process or other procedures to improve equipment safety, quality, maintainability, and reliability.
  • Calculate return on investment for various reliability solutions.
  • Work with production locations to deployed best practices and reliability solutions.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in: Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Management, Operations Management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Power Point
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
