As a Quality Systems Technician you will have the opportunity to identify and stop processing of non-conformances related to products, processes, or quality systems.  Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by addressing all aspects of quality at the branch while providing support to the branch’s mission and vision.  The team you will be working with is collaborative and innovative, and values challenging work and diversity of thought. 

So, what will you be doing as a Quality Systems Technician?

  • Gather data as needed; oversee process improvements and any other needs associated with continuous improvement.
  • Help ensure the branch meets Corporate Quality Assurance guidelines.
  • Help ensure the branch meets and maintains our ISO 9001:2015 Management System Standards.
  • Verify the calibration of scales and gauges as needed.
  • Analyze and resolve quality issues as they develop including customer complaints and CARS.
  • Inspect different items or loads of merchandise going to customers as needed.
  • Assist with the analysis and document reasons for returns at the branch.
  • Responsible for inspecting/re-opening of crates, and roll openings, which are scheduled and have been crated or rolled.
  • Assist all supervisors to ensure that products are made according to specifications.
  • Assist employees with specifications on quality problems.
  • Use SPC guidelines to gather pertinent information about quality.
  • Ensure all supervisors in all departments are performing quality checks.
  • Evaluate the branch’s inventory as needed.
  • Responsible for performing activities related to special processes and special studies and their effects on products.
  • Responsible for rejecting all improperly packaged product in all departments.
  • Reject and write up wire return documents to Wire Mill (0400).
  • Evaluate Infinity checks and issue preventive actions on quality issues discovered.
  • Perform ISO 9001:2015 audits on a scheduled basis; in addition to the lead auditor duties.
  • Perform 1st piece approvals on product after changeovers.
  • Perform capability studies on all new products and report their capability indexes to the Quality Systems Manager.
  • Reject and write up Clips Returns documents to Vertex.
  • Complete FAA and Beta runs.
  • Requirement to do yearly gage R & R evaluations on calibrated test equipment.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Manufacturing experience
  • Quality experience

  • Knowledge of quality management systems and measuring tools
