Quality Assurance Technician

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Quality Assurance Technician within our Electronics Engineering team to help support our IDEA Center in Carthage, Missouri or Lenexa, Kansas.  Did you know we have been revolutionizing the sleep industry since 1883?  That’s right!  In fact, we hold the original patent on a spiral steel coil bed spring, filed way back in 1885.  Since then, we have been an industry leader in guaranteeing you get the best sleep possible.  If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.


As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will have the opportunity to perform a role that is a mixture of testing, hands on work, and problem solving.  Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by working on products and projects that impact the entire company.  The team you will be working with is close-knit, collaborate, and values hard work and attention to detail. 

So, what will you be doing as a Quality Assurance Technician?

  • Review and analyze system specifications
  • Design test plans, scenarios, and procedures
  • Execute test plans on a variety of software and hardware platforms
  • Document bugs and errors in detailed, easy to follow language
  • Analyze test results and communicate effectively with multiple audiences, including engineering, project management, and technicians
  • Work with development team to correct bugs and errors
  • Write processes for internal documentation


To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Ability to take direction from multiple team members
  • Eagerness to complete tasks accurately and on time
  • Flexibility to multi-task between projects
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, attention to detail
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Capable of initiating and monitoring projects with limited supervision


Things we consider a plus:

  • Relevant technical degree is not required, but will be given consideration
  • Familiarity with DevOps frameworks and regression testing
  • Experience using project tracking software such as Azure DevOps
  • Familiarity with development methodologies such as Test Driven Development and Behavior Driven Development
