We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., want your brain. We are searching for a Product Engineering Intern to challenge your brain that has been gnawing at you to pursue something big! The Product Engineering Intern will work within our Mechanical Engineering team to help support our Research and Development  business.  We are looking for highly motivated students who value teamwork, innovation, product design, and attention to detail.

As a Product Engineering Intern you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively and creatively on challenging projects within a dynamic team environment.  Internship activities can run the gamut of a product lifecycle: exploration, design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing. You will work with engineering mentors based on your ability, skills, and interests. Our interns are expected to roll up their sleeves and jump in from day one — some  have even been included on patents.

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Major in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 40 credit hours or more towards Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in 3D modeling, including SolidWorks, Inventor, Pro/E, etc.
  • Student design project experience a plus
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
