As a Privacy & Data Protection Coordinator you will have the opportunity to work with employees, vendors, and partners across the globe on our privacy and data security compliance efforts. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by developing and maintaining required documentation, addressing inquiries, and partnering with key business areas to ensure that data privacy and security issues are considered throughout projects. The ideal candidate will be located in Carthage, MO or the Kansas City, MO area.
So, what will you be doing as a Privacy & Data Protection Coordinator?
- Assist the Privacy & Data Protection Team in the timely execution of day-to-day privacy matters to ensure compliance with privacy and data protection laws and regulations globally
- Assist with developing, tracking, and maintaining required documentation such as privacy assessments, data mapping, records of processing, data retention rules and other documentation
- Upkeep of our privacy management system and administer Company’s Records of Data Processing Activities (ROPA)
- Research, analyze and summarize documents, regulations, and statues relevant to our compliance matters, identifying potential business impacts
- Manage routine inquiries into the privacy email
- Process, coordinate, and respond to information requests
- Assist with privacy training programs and other awareness activities
- Collaborate with others, such as Cyber, Information Security, IT Procurement, and relevant Business Unit on risk mitigation efforts, due diligence processes, and contract reviews, including addressing data processing agreement terms as appropriate
- Assist the Privacy & Data Protection Team with the management and documentation of privacy and cyber incidents, including breach notifications
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Ability to take complex matters and translate it into actionable activities
- Proficient in researching and document drafting
- Effective at prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Desire to learn a complex and fast-changing area and an ability to understand technology and technical issues
- Proficient in Microsoft products (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Things we consider a plus:
- 3-5 years administrative or paralegal experience
- Compliance experience with a multinational company
- Privacy and Cyber or Information Security experience, including practical knowledge of major privacy laws such as CCPA and GDPR
- Privacy and/or Cyber or Information Security certification from a recognized organization (e.g., IAPP, ISC2, ISACA)
- Experience with privacy management tools and software (e.g., TrustArc, OneTrust)
- Experience with privacy laws and privacy-focused tools and frameworks
