We, at Leggett & Platt Incorporated, are searching for a Master Production Scheduler within our Customer Service team to help support our Automotive business. The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing the organization's master production schedule to ensure efficient utilization of resources, timely delivery of products, and alignment with customer demand and business objectives. This role works closely with production, supply chain, procurement, sales, customer service, and operations teams to balance demand, capacity, inventory, and material availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the master production schedule (MPS) based on customer demand, forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity.
- Coordinate production planning activities to ensure on-time delivery and optimal resource utilization.
- Monitor capacity constraints and communicate scheduling risks, bottlenecks, and recovery plans.
- Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure material availability aligns with production requirements.
- Analyze customer demand, sales forecasts, and order trends to support planning decisions.
- Review and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changing priorities, supply disruptions, equipment downtime, or customer requirements.
- Lead scheduling meetings and provide updates on production status, capacity, and performance metrics.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as schedule adherence, on-time delivery, inventory levels, and forecast accuracy.
- Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes by providing scheduling and capacity insights.
- Generate reports and recommendations to improve production efficiency and inventory management.
- Ensure data accuracy within ERP, MRP, and planning systems.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes and operational effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 3–7 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain, manufacturing, or operations planning.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience with Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain operations.
