The Manufacturing Lab Quality Systems Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the Manufacturing Lab's adherence to established quality standards, including ISO 9001:2015. This position serves as the quality advocate for the lab, supporting product development, process improvement initiatives, and the scale-up of new products into production.

 

So, what will you be doing as a Quality Systems Coordinator?

 

  • Identify, document, and halt non-conforming products or processes; implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System standards.
  • Conduct quality inspections, data collection, and perform PPAPs and capability studies.
  • Support new product development by coordinating sample runs, FAAs, beta builds, certification production, and green tag validations.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Scheduling teams to support product development and successful production scale-up.
  • Convert temporary product specifications into ISO-controlled documents following the development phase.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and perform preventive maintenance on quality measurement equipment.
  • Lead and participate in training efforts, including EOJT, TPM initiatives, and process development.
  • Conduct and lead scheduled internal audits per ISO standards.
  • Support corporate initiatives including Continuous Improvement, ECO (Engineering Change Orders), and 6S workplace organization.
  • Communicate quality-related updates effectively to all stakeholders.
  • Assist Marketing in validating and developing value-added product features.

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience in manufacturing and quality systems.
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment, including Spuhl P450 and P460 coilers, PA494 assembler, and Roll Pack systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes and ISO 9001:2015 quality standards.
  • Ability to analyze quality data, including statistical evaluation of coil geometry and unit performance.
  • Familiarity with quality control tools, calibration systems, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and quality specifications.
  • Effective communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience using measurement tools and data management software.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and willingness to guide and train others.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout the workday.
  • Capability to lift up to 75 lbs. as needed.
  • Push and pull carts or baskets manually.
  • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to identify quality issues and read instruments.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to work overtime and perform emergency tasks as needed.
  • Active participation in cross-functional initiatives, including TPM, ISO audits, ECO reviews, and other quality programs.
  • Adherence to 6S standards and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
  • Flexibility to perform additional tasks assigned.
