We, at Leggett & Platt Incorporated, are searching for a weekend shift Maintenance Technician within our Maintenance team to help support our Automotive business. As a Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for overseeing and performing day-to-day maintenance operations for the facility, ensuring that all systems, equipment, and building infrastructure are functioning efficiently and safely. This position also serves as a multi-craft technician supporting production processes, capable of performing a wide range of maintenance tasks including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC-related work.
So, what will you be doing as a Maintenance Technician (Facility and Multi-craft)?
- Perform and oversee routine facility maintenance, including inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs to building systems and equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues.
- Execute corrective maintenance on machinery, production equipment, and building components as needed.
- Complete preventive maintenance on equipment with limited supervision and guidance during weekend shift.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, service logs, and equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA standards, and company maintenance procedures.
- Assist with vendor coordination, contractor oversight, and maintenance scheduling.
- Conform with the environmental policy and procedures and with the requirements of the environmental management system.
- Perform other duties as requested or as deemed appropriate.
- Working schedule Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday: 4:45 am to 3:15 pm
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Must be able to interact with upper management, employees, & other branches.
- Must be able to troubleshoot and repair issues with plant cooling tower, HVAC, Air compressors, and plant production equipment.
- Must be able to obtain a forklift license.
- Must possess problem solving skills, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, facilitation.
- Capability of working in a team environment.
Education and previous experience
- High school diploma or GED; technical or trade school certification preferred (is a plus).
- HVAC experience or certification is a strong plus (EPA Universal Certification preferred).
- Strong multi-craft skills (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.).
- At least 2-4 years of working experience in the trained area in manufacturing companies
