Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking a Logistics Accounting Coordinator at its Carthage, MO branch.  This position will be responsible for working with the logistics staff to ensure preparation and processing of invoices for payment.  The qualified candidate should be detail oriented, possess excellent analytical skills and be able to multi-task and navigate in multiple operating systems.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process invoices for payment
  • Audit domestic freight invoices to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Comprehend carrier pricing, contract rates, and accessorial charges
  • Analyze vendor agings, researching missing invoices, invoicing errors, disputed charges and communicate findings to vendor staff
  • Monitor system reports for accuracy
  • Assist branch staff with questions and providing supporting documents
  • Answering phones and miscellaneous office projects

 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office package to include Excel, Word, and Outlook

 

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of logistical terminology
  • Previous transportation experience
  • Experience with McLeod Transportation software and general ledger systems
  • Must be able to adapt and perform in a fast-paced, team-oriented office environment
