As a Load Planner you will have the opportunity to work closely with various departments across the organization.  Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by ensuring efficient and timely delivery of operations.  The team you will be working with is flexible and adaptable, and values exceptional customer service. This is an on-site position at one of our branches in Carthage, MO.  

So, what will you be doing as a Load Planner?

  • Maintain effective communication with drivers and customers to ensure deliveries in a timely manner.
  • Build and foster excellent working relationships with drivers and branch personnel.
  • Schedule equipment maintenance to ensure vehicle availability and readiness.
  • Track and trace load movements to monitor progress and resolve any issues.
  • Maintain friendly, efficient service to drivers, customers, and office personnel.
  • Maintain timely, accurate records in planning sheets.
  • Communicate load/lane details to freight coordinators.
  • Communicate with Leggett branches and outside brokers to secure freight.
  • Accept load tenders and confirm load details to ensure smooth transportation operations.
  • Plan loads to minimize deadhead and idle time.
  • Plan around holidays and weather to maintain service to customers.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • 3 years of load planning/dispatch experience.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple demands while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
  • Knowledge and experience with DOT regulations and transportation industry.
  • Available for on-call duty during some holidays and weekends.
  • Proficiency in McLeod, Qualcomm, and Microsoft Office is a plus.
  • Ability to work within a team setting.
