Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking a Financial Analyst to support our Bedding Segment. As part of the group’s developing Financial Planning & Analysis function, the Analyst will support a wide range of analyses, including forecasting, budgeting, variance reporting, and returns on investment. If you enjoy thinking critically to build insights from multiple sources and analyzing data to inform decisions, this role may be for you.


What you’ll do

  • Complete the monthly, annual, and long-term income statement and cash flow forecasts to ensure cost-effective operations, and provide clear identification of variances and improvement opportunities
  • Complete variance analyses and reporting for results vs. forecast, budget, and prior periods to articulate business drivers and ensure accountability
  • Act as a key information partner to business leaders, combining data to develop actionable insights and recommendations to drive value for the business
  • Assist in the completion of relevant business cases for new products, capital allocation, and other ad-hoc analyses as assigned to drive profit enhancement across the business
  • Work closely with controllership and costing teams to ensure proper and effective financial methodologies and implement changes around improvement opportunities
  • Present relevant data and summaries to functional areas throughout the organization to help explain results, changes, and impacts on potential scenarios


Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing analytical role, with a preference for experience in financial analysis, business analytics, or a related field
  • Broad understanding of S&OP, data collection, aggregation, and assessment to derive insights
  • Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail and process
  • Ability to analyze multiple inputs, think critically, and creatively problem solve when data is either incomplete or ambiguous
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to form and communicate key insights for leadership
  • A self-starter with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • High integrity and ethical standards, and an ability to handle confidential information
