In this role, you will report to the Branch Manager and lead the branch team in maintaining compliance standards and regulations whilst maintaining a Safety-First approach in all activities. You will improve EHS compliance by training employees to enhance their awareness and following internal and external legal requirements. As part of the Branch Management Team you will have close interactions with all areas to establish efficient processes to meet our customers’ needs.

 

What you will be doing?

  • Champion for sustaining compliance standards and regulations of EHS and initiate and coordinate improvement activities on EHS. Metrics: DART Rate, Incident Rate, Loss of Working Days, Environmental KPIs, and Audit compliance.
  • Ensure, verify, and improve EHS compliance with internal and external requirements including a system of regular audits.
  • Initiate and conduct training activities to enhance EHS awareness and ensure correct reporting in Safeguard system.
  • Ensure legal requirements are being followed and regular meetings are conducted with the appropriate team.
  • Review and approval of new equipment regarding EHS.
  • Initiate and contribute in EHS improvement projects.
  • Lead a Safety-First approach maintaining a zero-accident culture. Ensure and monitor work accident prevention and environmental protection regulations of the facility to assure a safe and productive work environment free of any liabilities or defects.
  • Fulfill assigned primary, secondary and or tertiary deputy/back-up roles as assigned and required on occasion by the business.

 

We are looking for someone with:

  • Minimum of 3 years relative experience in environmental and safety leadership and/or approximate education
  • Ability to lead with targets to ensure continuously improving compliance to legal requirements
  • Working knowledge of compliance metrics (DART rate, incident rates, loss of working days, etc.)
  • Ability to audit and record all incidents and follow through to ensure improvement of EHS system
  • Ability to lead a team to provide proper training to improve the company culture
  • Adequate experience in the use of common IT-solutions (MS Office, HFM, etc.)
  • Hands-on mentality and excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Social and intercultural competence as well as good interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Commitment to 100% safety, quality and continuous improvement
  • Ability to interact positively with employees of all levels across the organization
