The Director of Supply Chain will provide leadership and oversight for the supply chain organization, including the functional areas of planning, procurement, sourcing, supplier quality, and logistical movements of inbound goods for the Adjustable Bed Group.  This position will interface with stakeholders outside of the supply chain organization to understand business needs and develop the internal capabilities to support those needs.    

 

Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Works closely with operations team to support requirements and objectives.
  • Recommends new processes or system improvements.  Implements new ideas and strategies.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors key performance indicators to ensure efficiency of department.
  • Lead the business inventory planning process and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Lead monthly Supply Forecasting Process including demand planning, central production planning, supply forecasting process, supplier forecasting process.
  • Oversee the management of the Planning and Purchasing Teams.
  • Ensure the Purchasing team has the tools available for weekly review of inventory for ordering and inventory management at all locations.
  • Oversee the procurement of all materials required for company operations.
  • Determine strategic inventory plans that achieve business inventory commitments, while balancing customer lead time/business OTD requirements
  • Interact with product management/sales on new product launches to ensure on time efficient launches are achieved.
  • Lead team of sourcing professionals to strategic outcomes and savings delivery
  • Responsible for development, implementation, and communication of global sourcing strategies to ensure standard approach across all commodities.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers, conducting negotiations to secure advantageous terms and ensure the continuity of supply.
  • Interact with product management/sales to ensure new parts are sourced and available in time for purchasing requirements.
  • Conduct in-depth cost analyses and set benchmarks for quality and cost, employing a data-driven approach to track savings and efficiencies gained.
  • Understanding of geographical country sourcing into our multi-site manufacturing locations
  • Monitor global market trends, identifying impacts on supply and demand, and adjusting strategies to leverage market conditions.
  • Drive the evaluation and selection of new suppliers based on thorough criteria for quality, value, and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Management, Finance, or another related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role; 10+ years total relevant work experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and application.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to challenging and changing priorities.
  • Strong project management abilities, capable of leading cross-functional initiatives and driving change.
  • Proven negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written) required.
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong financial, mathematical, modeling, and analytical skills.
  • Must have strong organizational and time-management skills; flexibility and ability to coordinate multiple priorities.
  • Advanced experience with multiple supply bases, forecasting, scheduling, and inventory control
  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing a team and fostering professional development.
