Leggett & Platt, Incorporated has an opening for a non-seasonal Financial Accounting Intern in the Segment Reporting Department at its corporate headquarters in Carthage, MO. This position will work at least 20 hours per week during the school year, with the possibility of additional hours during the summer months. The internship will provide direct experience with the company’s accounting systems and will allow the individual to gain an understanding of the company’s operations.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Prepare account reconciliations and analyze accounts to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Assist in the preparation of the company’s consolidated financial statements and internal management reports
  • Other various projects, such as assisting in the preparation of the company’s shareholder reports, assisting outside auditors with analyses of accounts, and day-to-day contact with division accounting staff, operating managers and other corporate department staff  

 

Requirements

  • Must be a college student seeking a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, with an anticipated graduation date no earlier than December 2026 or later than May 2028
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • GPA of 3.3 or higher is desired Completion of at least one college accounting course is preferred
