We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Controls Engineer within our US Spring division to help support our bedding business.  Did you know we have been revolutionizing the sleep industry since 1883?  That’s right!  In fact, we hold the original patent on a spiral steel coil bed spring, filed way back in 1885.  Since then, we have been an industry leader in guaranteeing you get the best sleep possible.  If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.


As a Controls Engineer you will have the opportunity to research machine intelligence.  Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by improving processes to increase efficiencies.  The team you will be working with is close-knit, and values the challenging work. 


So, what will you be doing as a Controls Engineer?

  • Collaborating with team members on ground to maintain machinery
  • Communicating with the makers of the machines internationally
  • Suggest process improvements and participate in projects to increase efficiencies
  • Research machine intelligence and present improvement opportunities


To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical departments
  • Self-motivation, organization, and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of PLC’s or standard Industrial Automation programming languages


Things we consider a plus:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Computer Science (BSCS)
  • 2-3 years of Industrial Automation or Electrical Engineering experience
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally, and communicate and interact effectively with customers and suppliers
