Continuous Improvement Manager

Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking an experienced Continuous Improvement Manager to join our Operations Services Team. This person will participate on teams across the company to assist our businesses with the implementation of Lean Principles in manufacturing and administrative processes. The successful candidate will have a solid background and knowledge of Lean and have a successful record of leading Lean Implementations. This position is currently located in Carthage, MO but flexible to other locations.

 Responsibilities:

  • Support development of the strategy and plan for implementing CI and Lean across all BUs/Branches within L&P Corp
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities in manufacturing and other business processes.
  • Promote continuous improvement and Lean principles and philosophy
  • Training team members in Lean principles and other CI tools
  • Consultation and Facilitation of Lean roll-outs and CI projects
  • Coaching proper use of CI principles and tools with hands-on implementation assistance
  • Coaching Problem solving as well as Root Cause Analysis
  • Perform Value Stream Mapping and Gap Analysis
  • Facilitate and Coach Rapid Continuous Improvement events (Kaizen) 
  • Benchmark to LP world leaders and identify strengths and weaknesses in relation to continuous improvement and Lean activities.
  • Participate in strategic planning and in the development of the company’s continuous improvement objectives.
  • Prepare and make presentations to internal and external personnel.
  • Responsible for knowing and upholding EH&S Policy and for working in a safe manner and reporting all unsafe or unhealthy conditions or acts.
     
    Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing or Engineering related field; Master’s Degree preferred
  • Five (5) years of experience in manufacturing environment with a successful track record of Lean operations, business and manufacturing processes
  • Lean Manufacturing experience (Continuous Flow, Problem Solving, Standard Work, SMED, Visual Mgt)
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of the Toyota Production System.
  • Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt knowledge and experience is an asset
  • Financial and costing knowledge is an asset
  • Proficient with Windows, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to Travel both domestically and internationally – Up to 50%
