As a Cloud Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to build systems to support consumer products.  Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by developing cloud applications and database systems to support our electronics development and IoT projects.  The team you will be working with is close-knit, collaborate, and values hard work and attention to detail. 



So, what will you be doing as a Cloud Software Engineer?

  • Work with a team of software engineers to program and troubleshoot cloud applications that support our various consumer loT electronics and business applications
  • Design and optimize databases and data structures to efficiently store and retrieve information in the cloud
  • Design and implement APls and other services to allow integration with new and existing applications
  • Containerize new and existing applications, and integrate them in a Kubernetes environment
  • Develop and execute unit tests and other quality checks
  • Create, manage, and scale resources in our cloud environments
  • Optimize databases and storage to improve performance
  • Identify existing and potential performance or security problems with our cloud


To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or related experience in Computer Science, Computer Information Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or similar field
  • Strong software development skills
  • Experience with Azure Cloud, AWS, or Google Cloud
  • Experience with back-end programming languages such as Python or Node.js
  • Experience with SQL databases
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
  • Proactive, analytical, and self-educating mindset with an eye for detail


Things we consider a plus:

  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Git
  • Experience with MQTT, REST APls, real-time data streams, and other data-related technologies
  • Experience with cloud performance analytics and reporting
  • Experience with Rust, C/C++, and other programming languages
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code deployments and pipelines
  • Experience with front-end web applications
  • Self-motivated to learn new technologies to improve productivity and provide better results
  • A working knowledge of some of the tools and technologies that we use including: Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, PostgreSQL, Python, Node.js, Active Directory, OAuth
