We at Leggett & Platt Automotive are looking for a Shift Manager to join our rapidly growing Automotive Team in Carthage, MO. We are a multi-billion-dollar globally diversified company that designs and manufactures various engineered components and products. Our growing automotive business unit, which exceeds one billion dollars in sales, is comprised of four main product segments with operations on three continents. Our customers include OEM and Tier 1 automotive companies.

 

In this role, you will report to the Manufacturing Manager and manage the analysis of deviations in the manufacturing processes for the assigned shift whilst maintaining a Safety-First approach in all activities. You will observe defined standards and support the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. As part of the Manufacturing Team you will have close interactions to establish efficient processes to meet our customers’ needs.

What you will be doing?

  • Ensure an efficient fulfillment of the planned orders by the defined deadline.
  • Responsible for the analysis of deviation in the manufacturing process compared to the standard and propose measures to reach manufacturing targets (OEE, HC).
  • Responsible for the availability of qualified headcount to ensure the targeted quality delivery level.
  • Responsible for the observance of all defined standards regarding HSE, manufacturing, and legal compliance (work time, breaks, etc.)
  • Support the continuous improvement of all manufacturing processes with the support of lean management tools.
  • First level support for technical issues on the manufacturing equipment.
  • Leading a Safety-First approach maintaining a zero-accident culture. Ensures and monitors work, accident prevention, and safe working environment across the business.
  • Fulfill assigned primary, secondary, and/or tertiary deputy/back-up roles as assigned and required on occasion by the business.

 

We are looking for someone with:

  • Ability to analyze plans and deviations and make prompt decisions to make defined deadlines
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with employees and management on changes of production needs
  • Working knowledge of material and production data to analyze and escalate changes when applicable
  • Ability to observe defined standards and make necessary changes to implement continuous improvement and manage technical issues to meet defined deadlines
  • Adequate experience in the use of common IT-solutions (MS Office, HFM, etc.)
  • Hands-on mentality and excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Social and intercultural competence as well as good interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Commitment to 100% safety, quality and continuous improvement
  • Ability to interact positively with employees of all levels across the organization
