BASIC PURPOSE AND FUNCTION

Performs shut down duties at the end of shift, performs production duties by filling in for all positions, and assigned cleanup duties.  

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Essential Functions

Assist with shutdown at the end of the daily production run by emptying and scraping the mills and calender, scrape cheek plates. Assist with team to pull the calender,

Clean banbury #1 chute, transfer belt, and brush the rubber out of the pattern belt.

Dumpsters emptied as needed with forklift. Bale cardboard as needed.

Must learn each job classification in the production and shipping departments.

Performs duties within any/all job classifications in all departments, as assigned, to fill vacancies due to employee vacations and other absences, and also relieves operators for breaks.

Performs production duties as assigned by Shift Supervisor including, but not limited to, the following: Color/ product changes, pattern belt changes, assisting with cover belt installation/ removal, backing changes, stapling on at accumulator, cutting rubber for BRMB production, cutting samples, and checking pig weights.

Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by Production Supervisor including, but not limited to, the following: plant wide cleanup, painting, or other plant safety work assignments, company grounds trash pickup, and snow removal off sidewalks and steps. Other duties as assigned.

Safety

Must adhere to all safety regulations and wear all proper PPE.

Keep work area clean and free of safety hazards.

Perform forklift inspection prior to use.

Participates in SafeGuard zone audits.

Quality Functions
Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities related to product, process and/or the system.

Identify and/or record any problems relating to the product, process and the management system.

Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.

Verify the implementation of solutions.

Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
