This position will be responsible to maintain the CMM fixture inspection and develop CMM programs for both fixture and production part inspection.  Position will also ensure gages and fixtures needed to execute manufacturing jobs to meet customer requirements are calibrated and managed.



  • Create CMM programs and validate for use.
  • Inspect fabrication fixtures using FARO CMM or equivalent as needed to support production
  • Assure gages and fixtures are checked-in and out in a controlled and traceable manner.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements
  • Maintain accurate control and accountability of inspection gages and fixtures issued to manufacturing floor. 
  • Maintains functionality, calibration specifications and safe condition by performing frequent inspections of gages for wear, defects and/or damage. 
  • Perform and document calibrations on specified inspection gages and fixtures
  • Update logs, crib sheets and gage list files
  • Report status of gages and fixtures at defined frequencies.
  • Work with Engineering and Quality in the inspection planning process to identify and obtain gages required to inspect new products
  • Utilize electronic gage recall software systems and ERP planning systems
  • Coordinate purchase of inspection equipment and calibration services with Purchasing and Outside Service supplier
  • Provide support and expertise during regulatory and customer audits of calibration system
  • Maintain gage crib area procedures and work instructions


  • 3+ year Quality Control experience
  • CMM programing, validation and use
  • Familiarity with gages and measurement techniques
  • Previous manufacturing experience, preferably in aerospace
  • Able to understand and interpret blueprints, specifications, operations sheets, etc.
  • Understands geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Computer literate (Windows, MS Office, E-mail, etc.)
  • Self-starter who is comfortable with hands-on activities
