Summary:

The purpose of this role is to manage and optimize purchasing activities through strategic planning, fostering effi-cient supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effective purchasing operations. 

Key responsibilities:

- Oversee and coordinate purchasing activities: Manage daily purchasing activities, including supervising staff, assigning tasks, and ensuring smooth and efficient purchasing processes;
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies: Establish and implement cost-effective purchasing strategies while maintaining high product quality and supplier reliability;
- Manage supplier relationships: Develop and maintain strong supplier partnerships, negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery schedule to maximize purchasing efficiency;
- Inventory control and management: Collaborate with the inventory control team to identify and manage inventory needs, ensuring continuous production operation;
- Improve purchasing systems and processes: Continuously improve purchasing systems and processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in operations while proactively mitigating potential non-conformities across products, processes, and systems;
- Train new employees: Develop and deliver comprehensive training on purchasing procedures and system utilization to new employees;
- Planning: Develop long-term purchasing plans, conduct market research and analysis, forecast future needs and manage procurement budget;
- Compliance: Comply with company policies and align with Leggett & Platt's leadership principles and core values.
