JOB SUMMARY:  The Maintenance Manager is responsible for providing leadership and direction to all plant maintenance personnel and contractors who are responsible for repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment in a manufacturing operation. Collaborates with all departments and reports to the Plant Manager.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Ability to keep track of and report on activity.
  • Experience in planning maintenance operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with staff members.
  • Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or GED required

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Follow all plant safety policies and procedures. Be actively involved in safety, participate in safety programs, engaged in safety activities, perform risk assessments and demonstrate ownership as well as leadership in personal safety and the safety of other team members.
  • Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation to ensure continuous production operations.
  • Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
  • Direct maintenance supervisors and hourly maintenance associates in their roles and responsibilities to meet plant objectives in safety, quality, cost, and customer service.
  • Provide technical support for efficient troubleshooting / problem solving activities and maintenance repair to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime.
  • Provide leadership in implementing / maintaining preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Manage maintenance department costs within budgetary guidelines.
  • Ensure that appropriate inventory levels for standard replacement parts are maintained.
  • Execute plant-specific vision and mission to assure continuous improvement and alignment with the corporate vision.
  • Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
  • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
  • Assist with plant floor equipment layout
  • Manage Equipment Service Contracts

 

Facilities Main Duties:

  • Management of All service contractors
    • Janitorial
    • Lawn Care/Grounds
    • Plant Repairs and Upgrades (construction, project management)
  • Capital Equipment Requests – Project Management
  • Two facilities (Beulaville, NC & Wallace, NC) with 2 direct reports
