The Hydraulic Cylinders (Specialty Products) team designs and manufactures custom and engineered‑to‑order hydraulic solutions that support demanding applications across multiple industries. The team focuses on precision engineering, product reliability, and continuous improvement to meet unique customer requirements.

 

As part of this group, engineering plays a critical role in product design, manufacturing support, and process optimization, ensuring high‑quality specialty hydraulic products are delivered efficiently and reliably.

 

As an Engineering Intern, you will support engineering activities related to the design, development, and manufacturing of specialty hydraulic cylinders. This role provides hands‑on exposure to real engineering challenges, combining technical analysis, manufacturing support, and collaboration with experienced engineers and production teams.

This position is ideal for a student interested in mechanical or manufacturing engineering who wants practical experience in engineered products and industrial manufacturing.

 

So, what will you be doing as an Engineering Intern?

  • Product Engineering Support – Assist with engineering tasks related to hydraulic cylinder design, specifications, and customization for specialty products.
  • Manufacturing Support – Support production teams by helping troubleshoot manufacturing issues and improve assembly or machining processes.
  • Design & Documentation – Assist with engineering drawings, bills of materials, and product documentation updates.
  • Continuous Improvement Projects – Participate in projects focused on improving quality, efficiency, safety, or cost within the specialty products operation.
  • Testing & Validation – Support testing, inspection, and validation activities for hydraulic components and finished assemblies.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Work with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to support product requirements and customer needs.
  • Data Collection & Analysis – Collect and analyze engineering or production data to support decision‑making and improvement initiatives.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in mechanical systems, hydraulics, or industrial products.
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and technical drawings.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a hands‑on manufacturing environment.

 

Things we consider a plus:

  • Coursework or exposure to hydraulics, fluid power, or mechanical design.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and engineering documentation.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Interest in engineered or custom product development.
