Assistant Controller

L&C Windsor Cables is looking for an Assistant Controller to join our growing Automotive Team at our facility in Oldcastle, ON. We are part of a multi-billion-dollar globally diversified company that designs and manufactures various engineered components and products. Our growing automotive business unit, which exceeds one billion dollars in sales, is comprised of four main product segments with operations on three continents. Our customers include OEM and Tier 1 automotive companies.

In this role, you will report to the Director Finance, NA and will be responsible for responsible for all areas of the Company’s accounting function. If you are looking for a challenging, rewarding opportunity to showcase your expertise, we want you!

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Previous supervisory experience - professional demeanor and strong management skills
  • Ensures internal controls meet Corporate and Sarbanes-Oxley standards.
  • Ensures all Corporate and management reporting requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Coordinates Corporate tax package, Sarbanes narrative, audit support, etc.
  • Reviews and approve customer and vendor changes / set-up, credit limits, and debit/credit memos.
  • Reviews all monthly account reconciliations for accuracy / completeness.
  • Various month end close responsibilities - preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, inter-company reporting, etc.
  • Reviews management reporting prepared by Admin staff.
  • Participates actively in the requirement to retain ISO9001, IATF16949 certification.
  • Responsible for knowing and upholding the H&S Policy and for working in a safe manner and reporting all unsafe or unhealthy conditions or acts.
  • Completes all other assignments, duties and projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • University degree within a business / accounting curriculum
  • Professional accounting designation or working towards professional accounting designation
  • At least 5 years of relative experience, preferably within an ISO9001, IATF16949 manufacturing environment
  • Previous supervisory experience - professional demeanor and strong management skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, and Hyperion Financial Management / Planning is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
